The use of a p-type window layer as an optical spacer in inverted small molecular organic solar cells is proposed. Optical electric field distribution inside the active layer can be shifted by modulating the thickness of the optical spacer. Without any electrical loss, the power conversion efficiency was significantly improved using the proposed p-doped window layer.
