Novel Li1.2 Mn0.6 Ni0.1 Co0.1 O2 hollow microspheres, formed out of the hierarchically arranged nanocrystalline particles containing rhombohedral and monoclinic phases exhibit synergistically improved capacity of 242 mA h g-1 with 97% coulombic efficiency.
