A series of silver-compound Agn X nanotubes, including Ag2 S, AgCl, Ag3 PO4 , and Ag2 C2 O4 , were successfully prepared from pregrown Ag2 CO3 nanorod templates. The anion exchange process takes place in non-aqueous solutions just at room temperature and completes within 10 minutes.
